The Sugden Multi-Stack unit is designed to give ambient cooling to Bread Straps, Trays and or Lids when the space on site is at a premium.
The unit comprises of multiple twin up/down shelved vertical tier stack units to give the required cooling time requested by the customer.
The system incorporates `raise and lowering` elements together with the transfers at the head of each stack. The shelf carriers have flared entry and exit edges to encourage a smooth transfer. The transfer from the top of the `raise` stack to the top of the `lower` stack at high level takes the form of a heavy duty twin chain drive with pusher bars connected to each chain. All of the conveyor, raise/lower indexing and transfers have a built in ramp up/ramp down facility via an inverter. The system is powered by an AC drive unit which is inverter controlled.
The precisional index position of the shelves is recognised by a proximity switch with a back up switch in the event of switch failure. The index time to raise or lower each shelf is constant.
The overall structure is designed and constructed to avoid any sway or vibration which could influence physical action or controls. The entire system is PLC controlled.

The main framework is constructed in heavy duty stainless steel hollow section, with the corners strengthened to prevent any distortion or sway in operation.

The Bread Straps/Trays are supported on stainless steel angle units, which are powered via the raising and lowering main chains. These chains are heavy duty and run in vertical guides which are lined in a suitable nylon which is self lubricating and silent running.

Chain tensioning is automatic, via pneumatic cylinders, with this being linked to the controls thus preventing the unit from running without the cylinders receiving an air supply.

The main chain lubrication is automatic and has variable controls to lubricate at selected intervals.
